
Energy Source is seasoned in the process of providing reports to municipalities to achieve green community status. The Green Communities Division (GCD) provides grants, technical assistance, and local support from Regional Coordinators to help municipalities reduce energy use and costs by implementing clean energy projects in municipal buildings, facilities, and schools.
Green Community Goals
- Cut municipal energy costs and strengthen local economies
- Access grants for clean affordable and resilient energy projects
- Reduce Greenhouse gas emissions
- Promote energy-efficient building construction
- Foster renewable energy and clean energy technologies
Energy Source assists with the required Energy Reduction Plans
- The towns are required to come up with a green community goal of 20% of their entire energy use within 5 years
Energy Source provides ASHRAE Energy Audits (level 2)
- Identifies a more accurate costs and savings for the recommended efficiency measures (15-20% of accuracy)
- Cost and energy savings from operational and behavioral measures
- End-use breakdown of how a facility uses it’s energy (i.e. 30% of electricity= lighting, 60%= HVAC, 10%= plug load)
Where We Operate:
- The Green Communities Division serves all 351 Massachusetts cities and towns helping them find clean energy solutions that reduce long-term energy costs and strengthen local economies. The Division provides technical assistance and financial support for municipal initiatives
